Gain Detergent Information

William Proctor, born in England, and James Gamble of Enniskillen, Ireland, both immigrated to the United States. While they had never met before, they both settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was here that the men’s fates crossed when they married the Norris sisters, Olivia and Elizabeth. These two unions created one of the strongest industrial marriages in the history of the United States.

It was their father-in-law, Alexander Norris, who suggested they start a business together, combining the talents of the two men. Proctor, with his background in candle making, and Gamble, a soap maker, took the idea and pooled their resources. They formalized their relationship and Proctor & Gamble was born on Halloween, October 31, 1837.

By the time of the Civil War, Proctor & Gamble has already grossed over one million dollars in sales and employed over eighty employees. While the conflict between the states raged on, Proctor & Gamble won contracts to supply the Union Army with soap and candles. The soldiers of the Union Army, once the war was over, returned home and continued to use the products they had come to know during their service to their country.

In the 1880s, Proctor & Gamble developed an inexpensive, high quality soap they called Ivory. Through the decades, the company would release products — Tide, Bounce, Crisco, Pampers, Prell Shampoo, and Crest toothpaste — that, along with Ivory soap, have become a part of America’s product landscape.

The company was also recognized for its progressive work environment in the late nineteenth century. They were one of the first to acknowledge the rights of workers and established a profit-sharing program for their workforce as early as 1887. They were pioneers in the fields of laboratory research, consumer needs and expansion of product appeal. Interestingly, because P&G became sponsors of early serial radio programming, a new phrase “soap opera” entered into the American lexicon.

Throughout the twentieth century, Procter & Gamble moved into other countries, becoming an international corporation. They acquired Charmin Paper Mills in 1957, followed by acquisitions that included Folgers Coffee, Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals, Richardson-Vicks, Noxell, Shultons Old Spice, Max Factor, and the Iams Company, among others.

One of Proctor & Gamble’s most popular products is Gain laundry detergent. Gain detergent was introduced to the American market in the 1960’s as an enzyme-driven stain removal detergent. In 1981, P&G repositioned Gain for its fresh scent. Today Gain has its own website dedicated to the scent experience. P&G introduced Gain Joyful Expressions in February 2006 and this scent line pushed sales over the billion-dollar mark.

Quilted Northern Coupons

Discounts for Quilted Northern

Quilted Northern Background Information

Quilted Northern Bath Tissue is made by Georgia Pacific, founded in 1927. They manufacture pulp, paper, tissue, packaging, and related items in the forest products industry across the world. However, the name Northern was adopted 1901 by the group of investors who built the first mill on Day Street in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

In the first year of operation, Northern’s 25 employees produced thier primary product called Sanitary Tissue. Each package contained one thousand individual sheets of tissue, 4×10 inches. They pierced each bundle with a wire loop so it could be hung from a nail in the outhouse.

Today approximately the Broadway Street plant in Green Bay employs approximately 2,400 people and the Day Street plant still employs 400 manufacturing people.

In 2008, Georgia Pacific introduced their new, improved, 3-ply Quilted Northern Ultra Plush bath tissue. They now quilt two layers for fluffier softness, and the added layer is for the purpose of greater strength and better absorbency. The regular 2-ply tissue is being discontinued.

Being an environmentally conscious company, they were able to keep the amount of pulp used to manufacture the Ultra Plush variety the same as what they used for the previous Soft & Strong version by narrowing the size of the roll. This also means they cut down the amount of packaging needed. This means a smaller shipping box size, thereby creating greater efficiency in transportation costs. This tissue is 100% biodegradable and safe for septic systems.

How to Find Discounts, Promotional Deals, and Coupon Codes for Quilted Northern

On the official web page of Quilted Northern Ultra Plush bath tissue Georgia Pacific is offering their “Plush Comfort Challenge.” You can try their new 3-ply bath tissue, and if you aren’t delighted with the product, they’ll give you your money back. The site gives you instructions on how to receive your refund, what to send, and where to send it.

You can find some great deals by purchasing Quilted Northern Ultra Plush online.

Georgia Pacific has been advertising their new Ultra Plush by offering coupons in the coupon insert of the major city newspapers. This will be the easiest place for you to find coupons. These are substantial and usually offer $1.00 off one 6-double roll package or larger. Look for these coupons at a rate of approximately every two weeks.

Unfortunately, online coupons are more obscure to find these days. The same deal of $1.00 off one 6-double roll package or larger can be found, but only on coupon club sites and can only be acquired and printed by members of the specific sites.

As more and more chain grocery stores offer savings cards that with a simple swipe the customer is awarded automatic “coupon” savings, paper coupons are being used less. Take advantage of these savings while they are still available. Commodities like bath tissue are necessities, and if you can save money on them, it is wise to stock up on them. Your money will go farther, and you’ll never be caught short.

When the prices for certain items are at their lowest, it’s time to stock up and purchase enough to last until the next big sale.

Behr Paint Coupons

Behr Paint Discounts

History of Behr Paint

Behr was founded in 1947 when Otho Behr, Jr. began selling linseed oil to paint stores. When customers made it known they needed a better performing product on redwood than linseed oil, Otho’s father, an accomplished chemist, helped him develop a new formula. The Behr family garage soon became the first factory for the clear finish and redwood stain developed by the father and son team.

In 1948 Otho moved his business from the garage to a Quonset hut in Pasadena, California. Sales steadily grew, as did the need for larger facilities. The company, now known as Behr Process Corporation, now has facilities all across the United States in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington, and in Canada, China, Guam and India. Behr paints and stains are sold in Home Depot stores in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Behr branched out into the paint business in 1986, setting the stage for a new era of growth for the company. Masco Corporation acquired Behr Process Corporation in 1999. In 2007 Behr partnered with The Home Depot-China to reach an untapped market with the introduction of Behr Premium Plus Paints and Primers in China.

Interior Behr products now include paints, primers, decorative finishes, waterproofers and sealers, garage floor coatings, wood floor coatings, cleaners, strippers and removers. Exterior products include paints, primers, wood stains and waterproofers, concrete floor coatings, deck coatings, concrete and masonry waterproofers, cleaners, conditioners and removers. Benjamin Moore Coupons

Logo

History of Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore & Co. was started as Moore Brothers Paint Co. in 1883 by Benjamin and Robert Moore, two brothers living in Brooklyn. At its inception, the company only carried one product: “Moore’s Prepared Calsom Finish”. In 1892, Benjamin Moore created MURESCO paint, revolutionizing the paint industry. MURESCO was sold as a powder; only water needed to be added to get started painting. Prior to this, consumers had to buy the ingredients for the paint and concoct it themselves.

Over time, MURESCO became available in 32 colors and was easily blended. To meet the demand for paint that could be washed repeatedly, the company created Sani-Flat, an oil-based paint, in 1907. By 1928, Sani-Flat was available in 21 colors. During the 20s, Benjamin Moore also dabbled in decorating help. The company released pamphlets with interior decorating tips, as well as had its store staff offer advice and help. In fact, its decorating advice got so popular that in 1930, Benjamin Moore introduced “Betty Moore”. Betty became the company spokeswoman offering painting tips and decorating advice. The company hired numerous actresses to make store appearances as Betty Moore, offering her help in person as well as in the company pamphlets. In 1957, Regal Wall Satin Latex interior paint became popular as more consumers became interested in “do-it-yourself” paint jobs.

Through the 70s, more latex paints became available, such as Regal Aqua Velvet, the first latex paint with an eggshell finish that could be repeatedly washed. In 1982, Moore created another first with its Computer Color Matching System. By 2000, Benjamin Moore had joined with Berkshire Hathaway to create its wide variety of paints and paint products. Into the new millennium, Benjamin Moore has focused on sustainability and “green” awareness, creating paints that are easy on the environment and its consumers.

Most Popular Products

Benjamin Moore’s product popularity is as varied as the company’s consumers. For those that are concerned about environmental impact, Moore’s Green Promise Paints are sure to satisfy. Aura, Natura, ben, Aura Bath & Spa, Waterborne Ceiling Paint, and Eco Spec WB are all part of the Green Promise line. All products in the Green Promise line are eco-friendly and contain little to no VOCs. While the most popular product might be debatable, the most popular colors seem to hold strong. The Benjamin Moore Historical Colors color palette is comprised of 174 hues that have remained fashionable to this day.

Pier 1 Coupons

History of Pier 1

Pier 1 Imports is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, operating 1000 stores in 49 states, Mexico and Canada. Merchandise includes candles and accessories, picture frames, furniture, home décor, rugs and textiles, and dining and tableware from over 50 countries including India, China, Thailand, the Philippines and Mexico. The style is casual and eclectic.

Pier 1 Imports began in 1962 in San Mateo, California. Charles Tandy and Luther Henderson bought into the financially distressed discount rattan furniture store Cost Plus and began expanding the concept into a chain of stores. Tandy bough low-cost imported items that could be marked up substantially but still be affordable enough to appeal to young American consumers. Several stores opened between 1962 and 1965, featuring jewelry, brass items, textiles, candles, incense, furniture and clothing from India, Mexico, the Philippines and Thailand. In 1966 Henderson bought out Tandy’s shares and changed the name to Pier 1 Imports. Tandy left the company to concentrate on developing his Radio Shack business.

Additional outlets were established; by 1969 there were 42 stores nationwide. In 1970 the company went public, listed first on the American Stock Exchange, and subsequently, the New York Stock Exchange. Stores were opened in several European countries including Belgium, France and Britain. By 1973, Pier I Imports had sales of $68 million.

As inflation began to erode the power of the dollar, imports became more expensive which affected the company. Competition from the original Cost Plus store and more upscale import stores such as Pottery Barn lured customers away and affected profits. By the late-1970’s, Pier 1 had to reassess its market niche and reevaluate its customer base. Several changes in management over several years attempted to reestablish Pier 1’s market by providing quality goods and reaching out to former loyal patrons. These strategies were effective. By 1989 the company had 550 outlets and its profits were up.

Pier 1 reaffirmed its commitment to its loyal customers by resisting the trend to enlarge and create warehouse stores. Its various outlets remain warm, moderately-sized stores that have interesting and well-displayed merchandise from all over the world.

Charity

Pier 1 has several charitable giving programs. It has been a partner with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) since 1992, selling greeting cards in the store and donating proceeds from these cards. Almost 28 million dollars has been raised through Pier 1’s various UNICEF initiatives. Pier 1 Imports also contributes to the United Way of Tarrant County and participates in the Adopt-a-School program. In addition, it has a separate giving program that focuses on the Tarrant County/Fort Worth area, its home base.

Plavix Coupons

Coupons for Plavix

Benefits of Plavix

Plavix is a prescription medication manufactured by the Bristol-Myers Company.

Two of the leading causes of death in the United States are heart attack and stroke, and the numbers continue to climb despite increasingly sophisticated medications.

What’s even more troubling is that those who have survived either a heart attack or a stroke are more likely to experience another one within a year’s time. It can be a scary prospect, almost like a ticking time bomb for the many Americans who suffer cardiac-related complications each year.

To help reduce this risk, scientists developed medications like Plavix, which effectively reduces the number of platelets in the blood. This helps decrease the likelihood of future blocked arteries, which lowers the risk of a future heart-related incident such as cardiac arrest or stroke.

How Does Plavix Work?

Squibb/Sanofi Pharmaceuticals Partnership. Plavix is prescribed to people who have been diagnosed with peripheral artery disease (P.A.D.) or who have recently experienced a blood clotting related problem such as a heart attack or a stroke. If taken with Aspirin, Plavix can also benefit those with Acute Coronary Syndrome.

Plavix prohibits blood from forming clots by keeping blood platelets moving freely through the blood stream. While most medications formulated to lower blood pressure and cholesterol work to keep plaque from building up in the arteries, they do not stop platelets from sticking together.

Plavix is unique in this feature and can significantly lower the possibility of a stroke or heart attack. Since individuals with a history of heart attack or stroke and those with P.A.D. are at higher risk for clotting related problems, Plavix is often prescribed to this population.

Plavix Side Effects

People with any of these conditions should talk to their doctors about the possibility of adding Plavix to their healthcare regimen.

Although this medication can be an important key to one’s health, like any pharmaceutical there are side effects. Side effects of Plavix include severe itching, rash, and diarrhea.

Plavix’s Place in the Market

These medications are relatively new entrants to the already burgeoning prescription drug market that revolves around heart problems, but they’re some of the most effective ways to treat blocked arteries.

Finding Coupons and Discounts on Plavix

And their popularity, combined with the statistical likelihood in this country suffering from heart-related complications, means that customers are constantly looking for a better deal on drugs like Plavix.

However, Plavix coupons are a rare breed and the ways to save on the drug have more to do with group savings programs and health insurance than they do with coupon offers.

That does not mean that coupons are entirely out of the question when pursuing a way to save on Plavix medication. Indeed, Bristol-Myers Squibb, the company that markets Plavix, occasionally sends out special offers to pharmacies, doctors, and even magazines that are targeted toward senior citizens or those who most frequently suffer from heart attacks and strokes.

Different Ways of Getting Plavix Coupons

These are not the typical kind of coupons that will come with your local Sunday newspaper, so don’t expect to see Plavix deals bundled with savings at the local supermarket. Instead, these coupons and special offers will take a bit more leg work to obtain.

Because the company markets its product more to pharmacists and doctors than to average Americans (outside of television commercials, anyway), customers will need to ask those people if they have any special deals available on the drug.

This is as easy as picking up the phone and calling your local pharmacy. You can even comparison shop between different pharmacists to see which one has the better deal, or is willing to offer the greater savings.

Likewise, it’s worth using your next appointment with your doctor to inquire about ways to save on Plavix. He’ll likely have several available Plavix coupons that he can share with you or instruct the pharmacist to use when your prescription is called in.

Printed Plavix Coupons and Coupon Codes

Magazines which target older Americans, as well as groups that are most at risk for complications from heart attacks or strokes, frequently have coupons to save a certain percentage or dollar amount on your next Plavix refill at your local pharmacy. They will likely come with expiration dates, however, but it’s worth saving them for future use if you’re currently taking the drug.

Unfortunately, this requires a magazine subscription, so it’s not a “free” way to save. However, those who don’t mind fronting the cost of the magazine in order to receive the special offers included inside could save a good deal on their next prescription.

Plavix Coupons On the Web

There are several ways to obtain special offers and save money on the purchase of Plavix. On the official site, www.plavix.com, a link and a phone number are offered for those who need assistance in purchasing the medication.

The link www.pparx.org is the website for Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA), a service that connects people with programs that will help them get the prescription medication they need.

In addition to the rare, but helpful, Plavix coupons that customers may be able to get ahold of, there are insurance and group rate options that can significantly lower its cost as well. These programs will cost a bit out-of-pocket, but their savings adds up over the course of a year — especially for customers with multiple prescriptions with high price tags.

The first option is a group rate prescription drug savings policy. These policies are typically purchased independent of insurers and require a flat monthly or yearly fee.

Because they are operating in large pools of people , thousands if not tens of thousands of prescription drug buyers, they can offer deep discounts on a drug’s price. Some of these programs offer savings on Plavix and other drugs that can be as high as 75 percent per refill. That’s a huge savings over both the retail price and the insurance-discounted price of the drug.

Conversely, those who have suffered from heart attacks and strokes should be able to call their insurer and indicate this fact. Their insurer will be able to offer them enhanced prescription drug coverage or an added amount to their premium each month.

Combining Other Offers with Plavix

Again, for users of many prescription drugs, the costs of increasing a premium rate are outweighed by the benefit of far less expensive prescriptions at a local pharmacy.

And it’s worth noting that both of these options, more comprehensive insurance or group rate prescription drug discount plans, can be used in combination with Plavix coupons obtained from a physician, pharmacist, or magazine advertisement.

That means customers will effectively get two levels of a discount that can always be used alongside each other. It’s the prescription drug equivalent of “double coupons” at most major supermarkets.

Find the Available Ways to Save on Plavix

Plavix is the leading way to prevent a future heart attack or stroke, especially for those who have already had one experience with either event. The average savings is 31% the cost of the drug and a potential 75% may be taken off the price.

The only thing Plavix doesn’t do on its own is save customers money; the good news is that there are plenty of options available to save up to 75 percent on the drug. Plavix coupons and group prescription drug rates will ensure customers get the best deal on this life-saving drug.

One last option for Plavix savings is applying for the Bristol-Myers Squibb Patient Assistance Foundation. Patientassistance.com lists the conditions for qualifying for the program. To receive more information or an application, simply call the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company.

Be sure to fill out all necessary paperwork completely and neatly in order to minimize the time necessary to process your application. To contact them, call 800-736-0003 or visit bmspaf.org.

History of Toothpaste

Toothpaste is a pretty standard household item for people worldwide. Not only does it clean our teeth, but it also helps prevent bad breath and gum disease. In combination with the action of the toothbrush, toothpaste strongly promotes oral hygiene. Although the earliest known possibilities of toothpaste existed in Egypt in the 4th century, the idea of toothpaste did not become general practice until the 19th century. The Greeks and Romans both worked together experimenting with items ranging from crushed bones and oyster shells to perfect the tooth cleanser. The Americans and British also worked together, with one particular recipe containing burnt bread surfacing over time.

By the 1900s, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda were combined to create a paste that would soon become marketable. In 1892, the collapsible tube was invented by Dr. Washington Sheffield of Connecticut. His idea came from painters that were using tubes to dispense paint. By 1896, Colgate and Co. had begun selling their own toothpaste using the collapsible tubes. In 1914, fluoride was added to toothpaste, and in 1955, Crest began selling toothpaste containing fluoride. Since that time, numerous companies have created their own versions of toothpaste.

Toothpaste comes in many different colors and flavors. Typically some sort of mint flavor is often used, but there are also some more unique flavors like bubblegum, and even toothpaste that is unflavored. Although many people have their favorite flavor or brand of toothpaste, overall most toothpaste brands have received excellent ratings and are fairly equal in quality. The type of toothpaste a person chooses to buy is based on many factors including brand, flavor, overall quality and price.

History of Nicoderm

The history of SmithGlaxoKline resembles an ancestral family tree rather than the beginnings of a company. The forebearers are illustrious and fruitful. The very first seed was planted in 1715 when Silvanus Bevan established Plough Court pharmacy, the forerunner of Allen and Hanburys Ltd, in London.

In the 1800’s, new shoots sprout. John K. Smith and his brother-in-law, John Gilbert, open a drugstore in Philadelphia. Thomas Beecham, opens the first factory in the world dedicated to producing medicines in St. Helens in England. Mahlon Kline joins Smith & Shoemaker in 1865. By 1875, he is rewarded by the business name change to Smith, Kline & Company. Joseph Nathan, the founder of Glaxo, emigrates to Australia and starts a successful general merchandising business, later starting a second office in London. American pharmacists Henry Wellcome and Silas Burroughs established Burroughs Wellcome & Company in London four years after Joseph Nathan. Smith, Kline and Company acquires French, Richards and Company.

In the 1900’s, Smith, Kline becomes Smith, Kline & French and still later, Smith, Kline & Beckman. The Wellcome Tropical Research Laboratories opens. Wellcome opens its first U.S. subsidiary. The Glaxo Baby Book is published. Mahlon Kline begins sending samples of pharmaceuticals through the mail to physicians. Financier Philip Hill, who plans to diversify the laxative business into a major company, purchases the Beecham estate. Beecham Research Laboratories purchase Brockham Park where scientists later discover penicillin. Glaxo absorbs Allen and Hanburys, the first seed company. Smith, Kline and Beckman merge with Beecham to become SmithKline Beecham. Glaxo and Wellcome merge to become Glaxo Wellcome.

In the year 2000, GlaxoSmithKline is formed through the merger of Glaxo Wellcome and SmithKline Beecham.

Today, GlaxoSmithKline is a British pharmaceutical, biological, and healthcare corporation. They are the world’s second largest pharmaceutical company and research-based. Their combined histories have made innumerable breakthroughs in science and medicine. Several of their research scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize in Science. As a truly global organization, GSK has operations in over 100 countries, including research, manufacturing, and corporate sites in the United States. Sonicare Information

Sonicare is an electrically powered toothbrush manufactured and marketed by Phillips Electronics. The premise behind it is that vibrating bristles will get teeth cleaner than they can get with ordinary brushing. Sonicare is powered by an internal rechargeable battery that vibrates the brush thousands of times per second, getting teeth exceptionally clean. Sonicare originally was offered by a company called GEMTech in 1995. This company later changed its name to Optiva, and was acquired by Phillips in 2001. Sonicare is one of the most popular electric toothbrushes on the market today.

One of the reasons Sonicare is a good choice for oral care is because it gets rid of more plaque than a manual toothbrush can. Sonicare is also effective against gingivitis and gum disease. For people who are adamant about having white teeth, Sonicare has been proven to increase teeth’s whiteness by more than two shades after two weeks of use. Stains from coffee, tea, and tobacco are effectively dealt with by Sonicare giving even more reason for its use. Furthermore, Sonicare has been proven to reduce periodontal pockets and is safe on dental reconstruction and veneers.

For many people, changing from a traditional toothbrush to an electronic toothbrush can be a big leap. Because Phillips understands this, it offers the Sonicare product to consumers with a 90 day money back guarantee. This gives customers three months to give Sonicare a try and if they don’t like it, they don’t have to lose all their money. In fact, all they have to do is call 1-800-682-7664 to get a return authorization and return instructions. Customers aren’t limited to 90 days for product support either: that’s just the money back guaranty. Sonicare is covered by a two year warranty, so consumers are assured that they are buying a product that will last.

Another reason customers like Sonicare is because of Phillips balanced approach to business. The company is aware of and faithful to its responsibility to society and to the environment as a business entity. Phillips has designed all its processes to minimize pollution and to maximize sustainability. It manufactures Sonicare in compliance with government regulations, but goes beyond them to make sure it minimizes and compensates for the impact its operations have on the environment. In a time when many businesses only play lip service to responsible manufacturing practices, they are a part of the Phillips way of life.

Gillette Fusion Coupons

logo for Gillette

History of Gillette Fusion

The Gillette Fusion was created and produced by The Gillette Company in 1895, which is now owned by Procter & Gamble. Procter & Gamble bought The Gillette Company a few years ago, who were leading producers in the dispensable razor market. Gillette is mainly known for their razor lines, but also produced other brands like Braun and Oral-B. These brands together help build a confident image for Gillette, showing the customer that Gillette really understands personal care.

The Gillette Fusion in particular is the newest line in disposable razors for the company, which features five bladed razors. Previous models, like the Gillette Mach3 , featured only three blades, which at the time was unheard of. Gillette, a few years later, decided to release the Fusion, and the Venus embrace is geared towards women. One unique feature was the pivoting head, which allowed the razor blade to adjust to a person’s neck and jawlines, leading to closer shaves, and shorter shave times. Another feature present in all razor blades is a blue lubricated strip which helped smooth the skin before and after it has been affected by the blade. Within this feature was the strip’s tendency to fade after prolonged use, alerting the user to change blades. If a customer did not change the blade, the razor would undoubtedly dull, and it would then require more strokes and effort to achieve a close and comfortable shave.

Gillette’s razors are made to have the closest shave, following their slogan, “The Best a Man Can Get.” There are two forms of the Fusion razor blade, one of them being the regular Fusion, while the other is the Fusion Power. The Fusion Power is battery operated, and emit’micropulses that help making shaving easier by raising hairs. In addition to the razor blades, supporting gels and shaving creams are offered, which help make shaving smoother. There are currently two separate types of Fusion branded shaving creams, one for before the shave, the other for after a shave. The pre-shave cream helps soften the hair and the skin around it, and when used properly will loosen the skin and hair, requiring less shave strokes and effort. After the consumer has shaved, they are recommended to use the post-shaving cream, because it will help protect the skin affected by the razor, and prevent razor burn.

They are mainly located in the North East of the United States, and the Gillette logo is used as the name of a stadium there, home to the New England Patriots of the NFL. However, they sell these blades throughout the United States, making it very easy to find a blade and replacements.

Gillette, and to a greater extent, Procter & Gamble, offer many coupons. On occasion they have coupons available at the convenience store where a customer could find them, but they are more commonly found in weekly newspapers and flyers. Most major newspapers have an insert of coupons for local and national businesses, and since a majority of these products are owned and produced by Procter & Gamble, there are always sales and coupons for Gillette related products.

Their website, www.Gillette.com, while informative, does not offer many deals or coupons for the customer. Instead, it is suggested that they try their local convenience stores, especially during the weekends, because everyday items like the Gillette Fusion are always in high-demand. Also, because this is has a disposable razor blade like previous Gillette razors, there will usually be a discount for those who buy multiple blades. Depending on the store, the shaving creams might also come as a package as well.

History of the Gillette Brand

Gillette is a brand born from the Procter and Gamble company, and is currently used for a line of safety razors. However, the brand’s reach extends to personal hygiene products as well. The brand is based in Boston Massachusetts, and is one of the several brands that were previously owned by The Gillette Company, who used to be a leading supplier of various brands. However, Procter and Gamble acquired the company in 2005. Gillette’s slogan has remained to be “The Best a Man Can Get”. The Gillette Company was founded in 1895 by King Camp Gillette to be a manufacturer of safety razors.

Proctor and Gamble finished purchasing the Gillette Company on October 1, 2005. The Gillette Company does not exist due to this merger. September 30, 2005 marked the company’s final day of trading on the New York Stock Exchange. The merger allowed Proctor and Gamble to become the world’s biggest personal care and household items company. The company also markets Oral-B, Duracell, and Braun, just to name a few.

Global Gillette was the name of the Proctor and Gamble unit that incorporated The Gillette Company’s assets. However, Global Gillette was done away with, and the brand was incorporated into Proctor and Gamble Household Care, and Procter and Gamble Beauty. The company divided Gillette products evenly between the two names.

The Gillette brand name has come to be synonymous with personal care products and shavers. Therefore, it is integral to the brand to incorporate some form of trademark protection. Otherwise, the public may not be able to distinguish the company’s products from its competitors. King Gillette applied for trademarks for the words shaving brushes, soap, razor blades, and razors on May 27, 1908. This move showed Gillette as an extremely smart businessperson, and secured his company’s place as one of the most prominent personal care companies in the world. These trademarks were filed under his company’s early name, Gillette Safety Razor Company. These trademarks were applied for each of the items, but in different categories. These categories included yarn and threads, undetermined, and meat and processed food products.

Each trademark was filed on the same date. However, they were granted entirely on different days. Currently, all of the Gillette Company’s trademarks are listed as expired.

History of the Gillette Razor

Safety razors, as in razors with a disposable blade, were introduced in 1902. Gillette had limited versions of this type. However, in 1934, Gillette introduced the Aristocrat. This was the first razor to incorporate a removable razor head. In 1947, the company introduced a new Super Speed model, which also featured the new design. In 1954, the designs were improved to facilitate closer shaving, and the closeness of the shave was indicated by the color of the razor’s handle. In 1958, the first adjustable razor was developed. This was revolutionary, because the blade could now be adjusted to the desired closeness. This model remained production until 1986.

Gillette currently maintains over 30 different types of razors. In addition, the company has added the Venus line of woman’s razors. Some of Gillette’s models include the Blue II, Mach3, Mach3 Turbo, M3Power, Gillette Fusion, Venus Embrace, the Fusion Power Phenom, among others.

How to Find Discounts, Promotional Deals, and Coupon Codes for Gillette

Gillette razor blades are a fantastic way to get that clean face feeling. Therefore, a Gillette razor should be a part of any man or woman’s shaving arsenal. Gillette sends coupons to every 18-year-old male in the mail. In addition, Gillette’s website has great coupons that can discount their razors. Gillette also allows their coupons to be sent out in the local newspaper. A smart shopper can also look for Gillette coupons in the checkout isle of their favorite supermarket.

Hamburger Helper Coupons

Save Money on Hamburger Helper

History of Hamburger Helper

Hamburger Helper has been providing products for a quick meal since 1971. Listed as one of the top three fad foods from that decade, Hamburger Helper is still a popular staple for busy families. The main product of the company is a line of boxed dinners designed to be added to a pound of ground beef in order to make an entire entree or meal in a single skillet. Some of the most popular flavors of Hamburger Helper include Beef Stroganoff, Lasagna, and Cheeseburger Macaroni.

In the 80s, General Mills added another line of Helpers to the Beef and Tuna varieties already on the market. Chicken Helper quickly passed Tuna helper in popularity, due in part to increasing availability of low-cost, boneless chicken breasts in grocery stores. Popular Chicken Helper flavors include Creamy Chicken and Noodle and Fettuccine Alfredo.

For busy individuals who are trying to make meals at home and on a budget, Hamburger Helper is a great entree choice. Not only can a meal be prepared in as little as twenty minutes, it is also very easy to snag great deals on these General Mills products. Finding and using Hamburger Helper coupons is relatively easy, and takes a lot less work than many coupon searches do. Coupons for these products are common, and when coupled with store savings, shoppers can often buy a box of Helper for less than a dollar. Well-versed coupon users may even score free boxes using Hamburger Helper coupons!

Finding Hamburger Helper Coupons on the Web

The first place shoppers should look for Hamburger Helper Coupons is the Betty Crocker coupon listing. These coupons, which come directly from Betty Crocker and General Mills, are updated often and can include deals for Hamburger Helper. Shoppers should bookmark the site and check before each trip to the grocery store to make sure there are no new coupons to print. If a desired coupon is present, users should always try to print it twice. Most online coupon printers will allow a coupon to be printed two times, so users can double their savings!

Another great place to look for Hamburger Helper coupons online is Coupons.com. This site scours the internet on a regular basis and provides a list of dozens of current coupons to be printed. A great way to double up savings on this site is to look for coupons on cans of tuna or chicken as well as Hamburger Helper coupons. The Hamburger Helper coupons can usually be used on any of the boxed Helper products, so those with a coupon for a free can of tuna can get the entire meal for as low as 50 cents!

Hamburger Helper Coupons in the Paper

For those who do not want to print coupons or who have limited internet access, Hamburger Helper coupons can often be found in mail and Sunday paper inserts. Smart Source and Redplum inserts are generally the best bet for these types of coupons. Family magazines may also have an occasional coupon for Helper products. Coupon clippers should always be on the lookout for coupons for their favorite products in any publication.

When using Hamburger Helper coupons, there are some tips and tricks to getting the best possible deal. One of these tricks is to stack manufacturer’s coupons with store coupons. For example, grocery chains like Kroger, Publix or Food Lion often provide their own coupons on the back of receipts or through mail to customers who are part of their savings card programs. These coupons may be for a specific product, or may be for a certain amount off a grocery bill.

If a customer receives a coupon from Publix for $1.00 off three boxes of Hamburger Helper, they may be able to use the coupon along with a coupon from General Mills in order to score additional savings. For example:

  • The customer has printed two coupons from the Betty Crocker site. Each coupon is for 50 cents off a single box

  • The price for Hamburger Helper at the time is $1.75 per box

  • The customer buys 3 boxes for a total of $5.25

  • The customer saves 50 cents on two boxes and $1.00 for buying all three

  • The customer pays $3.25 for three boxes, a savings of $2.00! The end price of the product is a little over one dollar per box

Doubling Up with Store Savings on Hamburger Helper

Although stacking Hamburger Helper coupons can save a great deal of money, an even better way to save money is to couple coupon stacking with store sales. Imagine the same coupon scenario above, but the store in question is Kroger. Additionally, Kroger has put select varieties of Hamburger Helper in its 10 for $10 promotion. The transaction would play out as follows:

  • The customer buys three boxes of Helper for $1 each

  • The customer saves $2.00 total in coupons, as described above.

  • The customer pays $1 for all three boxes, which is less than 50 cents per box!

Those who are willing to do a little bit of research, print Hamburger Helper coupons online, and time purchases with store sales can get an easy-to-make meal for pennies! For those on a budget, these meals may end up costing 50 cents or less per serving, even after the ground beef purchase.

The Gatorade Brand

Manufactured by PepsiCo, Gatorade is a world phenomenon, distributed in over 80 countries. In 1965, Gatorade was developed at the University of Florida by researchers to restore the electrolytes and carbohydrates depleted during sports activity and other forms of high level physical exertion.

The now famous sports drink was named after the school’s sports teams known as the Gators. Gatorade was first manufactured by Stokley-Van Camp but in 1983 the Quaker Oats Company bought Gatorade. Then in 2001 PepsiCo bought the Quaker Oats Company.

The popularity and effectiveness of the various Gatorade products made it the 4th largest PepsiCo brand, proving it to have been an extremely lucrative invention and investment. In the US Gatorade holds 75 percent of the sports drink market.

Popularity

Gatorade is a well known, non-carbonated sports drink that is popular among professional and amateur athletes, children, parents, and others who enjoy its refreshing taste and hydrating effects. It is readily available in most supermarkets and convenience stores.

History

The history of Gatorade appropriately involves a sport. A team of medical researchers at the University of Florida was asked to determine why the Florida Gators’ football players were performing so poorly in the heat. The researchers found that these young men’s bodies were not replacing fluids and electrolytes lost during exercise.

They also determined that massive amounts of carbohydrates, which were being used to provide energy to these football players, were not being replaced either.

Soon the researchers concocted a formula for a drink that would replenish the fluid, electrolytes and carbohydrates lost during physical exertion. Because the beverage aided the Gators’ football team, they named it Gatorade.

The Invention of Gatorade

The first prototype of Gatorade was a mixtures of phosphate, potassium, sugar, sodium, lemon juice and water. Ten members of the football team drank this early version of Gatorade in the 1965 season during both practice sessions and games.

The drink was so effective that it was credited with contributing to the Gators first Orange Bowl win in 1967 over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. This widely televised event touting the positive influence of Gatorade on the University of Florida football team gave the beverage wide-ranging credibility and exposure.

Later the same year Gatorade was licensed by the National Football League as their official sports drink – the first of many sponsorships for the Gatorade brand.

Legal embroilment arose in the early 1970s over who owned the rights to the invention of Gatorade. The researchers had been working under federal grants, with the University of Florida also claiming ownership. In 1973, the university was awarded a 20 percent share of Gatorade royalties, which, as of 2004, were $100 million.

Gatorade Changes Hands

The Quaker Oats Company bought Gatorade for $220 million in 1983, winning a bidding war against Pillsbury. Quaker Oats expanded the distribution of Gatorade to Canada in 1984, Asia in 1987, Europe and South America in 1988, and Australia in 1993.

The cost of this international expansion was $20 in 1996, but the pay-off was to the tune of worldwide sales at $283 million in over 45 countries. In 1997 Gatorade was introduced to an additional 10 countries which resulted in 18.7 percent growth in that year’s sales.

It was in 2001 that PepsiCo bought the Quaker Oats Company for an astounding $13 billion with a primary motivation to acquire Gatorade. PepsiCo continued Gatorade’s expansion, entering India’s market in 2004 and the U.K. and Ireland in 2008.

Gatorade is currently the number one selling sports drink in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela, Italy, the Philippines and Indonesia, and is a leading sports drink in Australia and Korea.

Gatorade Products

Gatorade comes in a few different varieties. G-Series Prime 01 contains carbohydrates and B vitamins to start you off on the right foot.

The original Gatorade formula is now known as G-Series Perform 02 Original G, with electrolytes and carbohydrates that help keep you hydrated and full of energy. It comes in a multitude of different flavors including those perennial favorites Lemon-Lime and Fruit Punch.

G-Series Perform 02 also includes G Powder, which is Original G in powder form. All you need to do is add water. G2 is the low calorie version of Original G, and is perfect for less vigorous workouts.

G2 Powder is the low calorie version of G2 in powder form, which just needs to be mixed into water. G-Series Recover 03 contains electrolytes, carbohydrates, and protein to help your body heal after vigorous exercise.

Other Versions and Products of Gatorade

Various versions of Gatorade have been developed in regions or countries for regional preference. As examples, Brazil has a pineapple Gatorade and Russia has a Gatorade drink called Rainbow. Flavors that were discontinued in the US, such as Starfruit, have been made available in other countries.

Initially, however, there were only the lemon-lime and orange flavors of Gatorade Thirst Quencher. Fruit punch flavor was added in 1983. But in the mid 1990s Gatorade became available in an array of new flavors including Strawberry Kiwi, M’mmmandarina and Cherry Rush.

Gatorade Frost

Gatorade Frost came on the scene in January 1997. Gatorade frost flavors were Glacier Freeze, whitewater Splash and Alpine Snow. The intention was to broaden the customer base beyond the competitive sports population. The Gatorade developers termed the untapped population the “active thirst” population, 10 times the size of the sports consumers.

This proved to be a wise and successful move, exceeding PepsiCo’s expectations. On the heels of this success, other products were developed and added to the Gatorade line-up.

In 2001 the Gatorade Energy Bar entered the scene with a large proportion of protein and carbohydrates, in competition with the Clif Bar and the PowerBar.

In the same year, Gatorade offered the Gatorade Performance Series including the Gatorade Nutrition Shake, the Gatorade Carbohydrate Energy Drink and the Gatorade Nutrition Bar. In 2004 they initiated the Endurance Formula, which contained 3 times the potassium and 2 times the sodium of the previous Gatorade formula and included calcium, magnesium and chloride.

Gatorade Ice, G2, and G Series

Gatorade introduced Gatorade Ice in 2002. This was a lighter flavored drink in Lime, Orange, Watermelon and Strawberry. In 2006 it was renamed Gatorade Rain, with some changes in flavors.

In 2007 low-calorie G2 was brought to market with 7 flavors including the newer concepts of Blueberry-Pomegranate, Glacier Freeze, Fruit Punch and Grape. This drink, advertised as a healthy choice beverage, produced a cool $159.1 million in 2008, breaking out as the top new food product of the year.

Gatorade Focus, developed in 2009, contains 25 percent more electrolytes than Gatorade Thirst Quencher and also contains theanine, an amino acid that improves mental focus.

The G Series, introduced in 2010 includes Gatorade Recover 03, a post-workout beverage with additional protein to aid muscle recovery and hydration after physical exertion.
